Club Standards
To qualify for a club "standard" you are required to compete in a minimum of 4 separate
distance races (marathon, half-marathon, 10m, 10k, 5m, 5k and the handicap). You will
be awarded the highest common standard you achieve across all 4 or more events.

 History
The standards were introduced in 1991, to providing all club members with a target, and
the chance of a trophy. Initially there were 6 distances, and the requirement to compete
in a minimum of 3 to qualify. A 7th distance was added in 1992, with the requirement
increasing to 4 events. Trophies are presented once a year at an annual summer
ceremony. Awards are only presented to those who qualify for a higher standard than
previously achieved. The season runs from 1 June - 31 May. If you move age brackets
during a season, your revised target time is only valid, after your birthday. In June 1999
the new "marble" standard was added, to provide all club members an opportunity to
achieve a standard. All members are requested to provide official race times, whenever
 possible.
